2015 Rotax Pro Tour | Grand Final | Ipswich | Page 3

WELCOME

Welcome to the Rotax Pro Tour Grand Finals for 2015. It really is Grand Final fever with the AFL, NRL and most importantly the Rotax Pro Tour Grand Final all happening this weekend.

IKD's white truck is currently holding a huge amount of trophies. On Sunday afternoon we will be presenting the round trophies, the Queensland State Championship trophies, the Manufacturers Cup Award, and the Overall Series Winners will be getting the coveted “Boxing Belts”. The confetti blower will also be making another appearance on Sunday afternoon to make the presentation a true champion's celebration.

Team Australia will also be announced on Sunday afternoon and will soon be jetting off to Portugal to compete in what is easily the best Karting event in the World. For the last 5 years in a row, Team Australia has made the podium in the Nations Cup including winning the event in Dubai and I am sure this year’s Team will do us all proud again. It proves that if you can run at the front in the Rotax Pro Tour you can compete on the World scene.

Congratulations to Pierce Lehane for winning the 2015 European Rotax Championship. This is a fantastic achievement and is a result of a very long commitment to testing, racing and constant improvement. Pierce, “PJ” and in fact the whole family have put in a huge effort over many years and they all should be congratulated. To quote Roger Penske, “effort equals reward” and it is truly the case for the Lehane family in this instance…..CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

2015 has been a record year for the Rotax Pro Tour - OVER 200 ENTRIES AT 6 OUT OF 7 ROUNDS!!!!!!! Thanks to everyone that competed in the Rotax Pro Tour over the year. The depth of talent and overall competitiveness of the Rotax Pro Tour is really second to none. If you want to be the best you have to race the best and that means you need to race the Rotax Pro Tour…it is as simple as that!!!!

A huge thanks to our officials. Chris Robinson and Graeme Monds have headed up the troops all year and their effort is much appreciated. We definitely made changes throughout the year to the way in which these events are officiated and I think we have made real progress in this area. Thanks Guys!!!!

Good Luck this weekend, race hard but please race fair and treat others how you would like them to treat you
