The one fallen seed!
In 2010, the seed was
planted in our hearts
to work in the lives
of our teenagers
and an army of
5,000 warriors were
fulfilled with the Holy Spirit. In mid-2013, the torch
of Abba Peru youth rallies was passed to our hands
and it was time to walk in faith. Although we saw
how difficult it would be to develop the conferences
and the expenses these demanded, we decided to
take the challenge.
That seed had produced fruit in the hearts of the
church pastors who previously participated in Abba
rallies. Since 2010, Pastor Maximo Mercedes was one
of the many who were challenged by the Holy Spirit
to develop the Abba conferences. In fact, he decided
to organize another youth rally in his city, Huacho,
which is three hours from Lima.
When he started, Pastor Maximo knew that he
didn’t have the support from many pastors and
local churches. He would need to train leaders and
get financial support to develop the conference and
especially to raise a team that would pass the torch to
the next generation.
He brought in pastors and shared the vision of Abba
Peru, but it was difficult to engage pastors because
they had other activities or because they simply did
not understand his heart. But the youth of his church
answered the call and one night told Pastor Maximo,
“Let us do it because we know that God will work in
a great way.” So he started having weekly meetings
with the youth and some pastors in the area who had
attended the Abba conferences in previous years.
They began to work in committees and started the

development of the rally. These young leaders were
always under the supervision of Pastor Maximo.
One leader said, “We actually saw the hand of God
covering the needs and expenses that the conference
required. Our God was glorified in Abba Huacho—
every young person was blessed and challenged to
have a relationship and communion with our Abba
and work in their local churches.”
It has been more than a year and the Lord
continuously blessed the city of Huacho. Today, the
Abba team in Huacho has grown since 2014 with
more people, pastors and volunteers engaging.
This year after the conference the youth and pastors
came out to march through the streets exalting the
name of Jesus. These warriors who attended the
Abba rally invaded the city of Huacho.
A week ago I traveled to Huacho with the production
group and witnessed the amazing work of God in
120 or so of young people’s lives. My heart was even
more excited to know that these 120 youths were
part of Abba Huacho. This was a great example of
how God is blessing the lives of pastors and youth in
our city when we do His will. As we talked with the
pastors, they asked us to do an Abba conference in
their area because it is too far for them to go to the
city. Having a conference in their area would allow
them to reach more young people and adolescents.
We committed ourselves to pray about the possibility.
I have much to tell but I do not want to extend this
article. I can only say that our faithful Abba is a God
of the covenant. We are called to fulfill the Great
Commission in all areas of our beloved land and we
are here to take the call.
