What is Station North?
By promoting and supporting artists and cultural organizations in the District,
Station North Arts & Entertainment, Inc. seeks to create a vibrant
neighborhood where arts, artists and entertainment venues flourish in the
midst an economically diverse community with an abundance of healthy
residential, retail and commercial offerings.
Interning at Station North during the busy days
of the summer brought incredible experiences.
From watching Gaia paint a large‐scale mural
on the office walls of the Station North Chicken
Box, to monitoring Loring Cornish’s progress on
his Change for the Better installation at the
police box, each day was unlike any other. The
greatest part of my internship, however, was
familiarizing myself with the Station North
district and its residents. I have met so many
unique and diverse individuals who share and
support Station North’s vision of revitalizing the
area and encouraging its growth through the
arts and creative placemaking. Before this
summer, I had only been to Station North once
or twice, but I look forward to attending future
events and continuing to explore the area.
