Mississagi provincial park
This is the largest provincial park in Algoma, offering a
range of trails for hiking enjoyment. Whether you backpack
among cloud shrouded hills or along cobble beaches
you can take one or several days to enjoy this natural

Mississagi Provincial Park is a hiker’s paradise, with
numerous well-marked trails. Some are pleasant, short
walks through the forest while others are more challenging

chapleau game preserve
This 2,788 square mile reserve, the largest game preserve
in the world, offers endless backpacking opportunities,
awesome scenery and is an excellent opportunity to view
wild animals in their natural surroundings. For your free

The Coastal Trail is the best in Algoma at 63 km (39 mi), or
5 to 7 days. A strenuous hiking adventure, the trail traces
the Lake Superior coastline along scenic cliffs, across
cobblestone beaches and through forest. Keep your eyes
peeled for bald eagles, especially along the Sand and
Agawa rivers. Several access points give you a choice of
spending one or several days on the trail.
The voyageur trail
John roswell hub trail
Hike 600 km (400 mi) of trails passing through some of
the most spectacular and rugged areas in Ontario. When
completed, this trail will span the central part of Northern
Ontario from Manitoulin Island to Sault Ste. Marie, along
Lake Superior to Thunder Bay. The longest continuous
stretch is approximately 300 km (200 mi) from Sault Ste.
Marie to Elliot Lake.
The Hub Trail located in Sault Ste. Marie, is a 25 km
multi-use non-motorized trail system that connects many
significant points of interest, including the waterfront
walkway, Bellevue Park, Algoma University, Sault College,
Sault Area Hospital and Fort Creek Conservation Area.
