PBC YEARBOOK 2 5 Men’s Track & Field Y E A R S Shorter Wins Second Straight PBC Men’s Track & Field Championship ROME, Ga. – For the second straight year the Shorter track team proved it is the best program in the Peach Belt Conference when the Hawks won the PBC Track and Field Championships in dominating performance Saturday in Pembroke, N.C. So dominant was Shorter that by the time the three-day meet – a bad storm on Friday washed out the schedule and forced officials to add events to the final day – came to an end, Shorter’s men and women knew they had claimed the crowns long before the team’s 4x400 relay foursomes put the proverbial icing on the cake in the last race. The Hawks, who have now won three consecutive PBC championships, combined to amass 190 points, 69 ahead of second-place Nova Southeastern. Alabama-Hunstville was third at 122.50 while UNC Pembroke was fourth. 62 Men’s Team Results 1. Shorter University - 190 2. Nova Southeastern - 131 3. Alabama-Huntsville - 122.5 4.
