Our community has proven time and again that in the face of adversity and challenge we can work together to achieve incredible things. With a key focus on building a culture of high health standards and safety, we have again this year provided the foundations for a resilient community, governed by policies and a framework that future-proofs our growing population. By informing and educating the community about the importance of health and safety, we can provide worthwhile, enforceable, sustainable programs that encourage everyone to look out for each other. There is no doubt that our region is changing; not just in the infrastructure being built, but also in the number of people choosing to call our region home. To make sure we are well-planned for the future, it is important for Council to provide regulatory programs that minimise the effects of unplanned risks, including the impacts of pests on our farming and residential areas as well as planning for responsiveness to disasters.
