3.5 Our Corporate Planning
Framework and Process
It is an exciting time at Toowoomba Regional Council
as we continue to achieve the vision articulated in our
2014-19 Corporate Plan. The Plan will position the region
to take advantage of the significant opportunities ahead
and will establish the ideal development, cultural and
economic conditions to support our projected population
growth over the next 30 years.
• Representatives of business organisations
The Plan has been guided by our aspirations, mission,
goals and values and a long-term vision for growth and
a strong, diverse economy. The Plan which identifies our
goals, outcomes and strategic actions keeps us on track
and ensures that we know where we have come from and
where we are going.
In addition to seeking external consultation when
developing Community Plans and the Corporate Plan,
Council is continually consulting with the community
on a broad range of areas including Council services,
community well-being, infrastructure and the economic
development of the region. This year, Council continued
to engage with the community via a number of channels
including face-to-face consultations and online channels
such as the interactive online tool ‘Have Your Say’,
designed to enable community members to share their
thoughts on key Council projects.
The Plan has been formed after an extensive public
consultation and submissions review process, incl
