Cr Tait has extensive legal and finance experience, with
35 years as a solicitor in a large regional legal firm, the
last 14 years of which as senior partner. Chris has also
been Director of a public company and a number of
private companies.
Having lived in Toowoomba for 46 years Cr Tait brings
previous Local Government experience to Council, having
served as a Councillor with the Jondaryan Shire Council
from 1989 to 1998, the last three years as Deputy Mayor.
In partnership with his wife Jane, Cr Tait has owned and
operated a number of farming and grazing properties
spanning sheep, cattle and cropping. His community
involvement includes service clubs, comprising terms as
President of Apex and Rotary (of which he is a Paul Harris
Fellow), other community clubs and a school board (for 9
years). Chris is married to Jane and has two adult children
and in his leisure time, enjoys cycling and hiking.

Cr Chris Tait was elected to Toowoomba Regional
Council in 2012. He is chair of the Planning and
Development Committee, Member of the Regional Active
Public Transport Advisory Committee, Member of the
Development Assessment Panel and a Member of the
Audit Committee.

Cr Joe Ramia
Cr Joe Ramia is the Environment and Community portfolio
leader of the Toowoomba Regional Council.
Cr Ramia is in his sixth term after serving one term as
Deputy Mayor.
Born and bred in Toowoomba, Cr Ramia has operated
a successful local business for 33 years. Cr Ramia has
been very active in the community and helped many
different organisations such as Downs Speedway, Sunrise
Way, West Toowoomba Lions Club and the Toowoomba
Carnival of Flowers.
With a strong passion to grow the region and see it
prosper, Cr Ramia enjoys sharing the Toowoomba
Region's unique lifestyle with the community.
Cr Ramia and his wife Paulette have four adult children.
