The 16 regional champions advance to a best-of-three NCAA Super Regional, with the eight super regional champions advancing to the Women's College World Series. The entire tournament is double elimination until a best-of-three championship series between the winners of each side of the bracket at the Women's College World Series. » Nebraska will also face Kansas for the first time since 2011, after a scheduled game between the teams was canceled due to inclement weather last spring. The teams have met 109 times - including 33 consecutive years from 1979 to 2011 - as NU has played more games against Kansas than any other opponent in school history besides Creighton.
