TWO DECADES OF DOMINANCE
Nebraska made its seventh Women's College World Series appearance
in 2013, opening the event against Washington (pictured).
Head Coach Rhonda Revelle and her staff, charged with
building upon one of the most storied foundations in collegiate
softball, have been determined to continue the Nebraska
tradition to the present day. Over the last 19 seasons (1995 to
2013), the Huskers have competed in 17 NCAA Tournaments,
advancing to three Women's College World Series. Nebraska
has won more than 67 percent of its games since 1995, while
capturing six conference titles and finishing among the nation's
top 25 on 14 occasions, including eight top-15 rankings. The
1998 Huskers also put together the only undefeated season
in Big 12 history, finishing 16-0 en route to the regular-season
title, then going 4-0 while winning the Big 12 postseason
championship. Individuals have also seen success recently,
earning 16 All-America awards and 11 academic All-America
certificates over the last 19 seasons.
In a stellar career from 1997 to 2000, Jennifer Lizama earned three NFCA All-America awards
while helping the Huskers to three Big 12 titles and the 1998 Women’s College World Series.
