Whether outdoors or in, a five-zone Sonos system by
Mulholland Audio and Video means everyone can relax
with his and her own music. Each zone can be individually controlled through iPhones and iPads.
Just inside the front door is a well-thought-out great
room that feels just right, with dimensions in both directions having nice proportions. The formal dining room is
open to the foyer and stairs, yet is defined by columns and
ceiling details.
Because the rooms flow so seamlessly, the interior color
palette had to do the same. Working closely with Meridian’s
custom home consultant Sue Andrade on finishes and color
selections, the client set about creating a beachy theme
throughout the house. Andrade focused on muted shades
reminiscent of the sea, such as sand and driftwood, with
soft greens and blues. The look comes together masterfully
in the kitchen, where Andrade recommended a blue and
white glass backsplash with tan and white Bianco Romano
granite countertops.
A favorite kitchen area is the bar and wine refrigerator,
delineated by darker mocha cabinetry. Even though it’s right
in the kitchen, it’s spacious enough to hold eight people
helping out, sipping wine and having a conversation without feeling crowded.
“I thought choosing colors was going to be difficult, but
Sue was very helpful. She knew what I was looking for and
within forty-five minutes we had figured out all the wall
colors,” Laura reports. ➳
