program, graduated from the University of California Berkeley, became a Teach for America public school teacher, and has now committed her long-term career to helping students, just like her, maximize their potential. With gratitude, FUN FACT ABOUT ELISSA Q: Where did you grow up and how did it shape your education? A: I grew up east of Los Angeles, where I was the first person in my family to attend and graduate from college. I was fortunate to move out of a lowperforming district in middle school, which gave me access to teachers who maintained high academic rigor and expectations.
