I wanted a place that was conducive to
three young children. Homes get used hard

There is a clear sightline from the
front entry hall, through the kitchen and
into the great room, which is centered
by an intricate, skillfully constructed
granite fireplace. Although there is
openness and easy flow, there are also
well placed, more intimate spaces.
Cornered between the great room
and the front door is a television room,
comfortably appointed with casual
furnishings. If mom and dad are
entertaining guests by a fire, the children
can lounge comfortably nearby, and a set
of French doors can be closed between
