Recruits may not participate in game-day simulations (e.g., running on the field, pre-game team walks, riding on team bus, etc.). If you provide a recruit with a pre-game field pass for a competition, the student-athlete host and recruit must be off of the field before the start of the game. Stanford may not publicize a recruit’s visit to campus (including on Twitter or Facebook). Please make sure your current student-athletes know that they also cannot publicize a recruit’s visit, including the posting of a photo with a recruit on a social media site. Recruits cannot have any interaction with alumni, donors, fans, or former Stanford student-athletes. A maximum of $40 for each day ($80 max) may be provided for the cost of entertaining the student host and recruit (including the recruit’s parents). Discounts may not be utilized to fall within the $40 limit and host money cannot be supplemented by the host and/or recruit. Stanford Athletics permits student-athletes to obtain housing with donors of Stanford Athletics. To do so, a student-athletes must obtain and complete a NonTraditional Housing Agreement Form with the Compliance Services Office prior to their move-in date. NCAA rules stipulate that student-athletes cannot receive extra benefits in the form of free or reduced-rate housing. Therefore, each student-athlete is required to pay a monthly rental value based on the type of arrangement (e.g., one bedroom, cottage) and local area (e.g., Palo Alto, Menlo Park). The Compliance Services office will set the fair market rate for each student-athletes situation. Also, rent should be paid by the student-athlete on a monthly basis and at the beginning of each month, similar to a landlord/tenant rental agreement. Per Stanford Athletics policy, student-athletes are eligible to reduce their monthly rental value by a maximum of 50% by performing work for the family. Student-athletes and the Stanford donor will need to agree upon the type of work to be performed as well as the number of hours per week. The hours and type of work completed by the student-athlete must match the form that is submitted to Compliance Services. Any changes to the work agreement must be prior approved by Compliance Services. If you have a student-athlete(s) that will be living in this type of arrangement during any portion of the academic year (including winter break), please contact Shannon Wilson to start the approval process. • • • • • Only one student-athlete may receive a your with complimentary meal while accompanying a recruit t assis (per meal).
