Board of Directors
Sloane Frost
Sloane is a co-founder of SFL and chairwoman
of the Board of Directors. Sloane graduated from
Cornell University with her B.A. in 2008 and from
the University of Chicago in 2012 with her M.P.P.
Sloane spent a year between Cornell and Chicago
serving in City Year, an Americorps program. Since
graduating with her M.P.P., Sloane was previously a
Research Analyst at Mathematica in Princeton, NJ,
and is now a consultant in Chicago, IL.
Sam Eckman
Sam is a co-founder of SFL. Sam graduated from the
University of Pittsburgh in 2008 with his B.A. and
from the University of Chicago Law School with his
J.D. in 2013. During his time at Chicago, Sam served
as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Chicago Law
Review. For the past year, Sam has been clerking for
Justice Alex Kozinski in the 9th Circuit of Federal
Appeals, and he is about to begin clerking for Justice
Antonin Scalia of the US Supreme Court.
Jeff Giesea
Jeff Giesea is an entrepreneur based in Washington, DC.
He’s chairman of the digital marketing agency, Three
Ships, and in the process of building a new company
around his latest passion, executive coaching and leadership
development. Previously, he built and successfully sold
two digital media businesses. Originally from Portland,
Oregon, Jeff is a graduate of Stanford where he was editor
of The Stanford Review and a Koch Fellow. He also serves
on the board of the Foundation for Economic Education.
Dan Grossman
Dan is a seasoned veteran in both for-profit and
nonprofit activities. Dan graduated from Miami
