After rain washed out the first day of competition, the Peach Belt Conference Golf Championship was reduced to one round and the No. 2
University of South Carolina Aiken men’s golf team notched a total of
291 en route to the conference title Saturday afternoon while Brandon
Robinson-Thompson clinched the individual championship at the par72, 7,057-yard Mountain View Course at Callaway Gardens.
Georgia College finished second two strokes behind the Pacers at
293 while UNC Pembroke was third with a 295 and Armstrong fourth
just one stroke behind at 296.
It marks the second straight team championship for the Pacers.
The 291 total was the same score USC Aiken in the final round of the
2013 PBC Championship.
Robinson-Thompson, a first-team all-conference selection, registered a four-under par, 68, defeating Armstrong’s Shad Tuten by a mere
stroke for the individual crown.
Second-team all-PBC honoree Hayden Letien finished in a tie for
the bronze after carding a 71. He amassed a one-under par score for the
18-hole tournament. Letien tied with the Bobcats’ top finisher, Nicolas
Falkinhoff, and the Braves’ best golfer of the tournament, Michael Mullmann, for third.
Andrew Ward registered a three-over par, 75, while tying for 17th

The team victory marked the fourth team title by the Pacers this
season. The squad also won the Firestone Invitational, Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate and the Bobcat Invitational.
The title is the 10th PBC Championship in school history. The team
claimed titles in 1995, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008 and
2013.
