UAH’s Katelin Barber will run in the 100m dash while Clayton State’s Jessica Matthews will compete in the triple jump and Nova’s Larushka Jobert in the javelin. Barber won the 100m dash at the PBC for UAH in a time of 11.99. Her effort helped UAH to claim the PBC title. Matthews will be making her second trip to the outdoor championships in the triple jump while Kemboi will be making his first appearance in the 10,000m run. Kemboi will run on the opening night of competition slated for Thursday, May 22 while Matthews will compete on Friday, May 23. Matthews jumped a season-best 12.27m (40-3.25) last weekend at the Georgia Invitational. The Monroe, Ga. native won three triple jump competitions this season, including her first Peach Belt Conference title last month. ROME, Ga. | For the second year in a row, the UAH women’s track and field team captured the Peach Belt Conference Championship on Saturday in Rome, Ga. The women finished with 185.50 points to take home the championship, 12.5 points ahead of second-place finisher Shorter (173), while Nova Southeastern, UNC Pembroke and Columbus State rounded out the top 5. “Our women’s team had a big day today which capped a great three days. A total team effort as we got points out of nearly every event,” said head coach David Cain. UAH finished first in six of the eight events as Vicky Winslow took home first place in two events in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:57.4 and cross the finish line with a time of 2:15.21 in the 800M. National’s qualifier Katelin Barber came in first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.99 and teammate Briyonna Scroggins ran an impressive time of 1:03.04 in the 400 meter hurdles to finish first. Michelle Kruse ended the day with a first-place finish in the 5000 meter run with a time of 17:59.82 and Kailey Williams and Winslow both finished in the top 5 with a third and fourth place finish, respectively. Senior Kimaya Johnson and Mariah Tolbert both finished in the top two spots with Johnson sporting a time of 14.73 and Tolbert clocking in at 14.79 in the 100m hurdles. 58 UAH’s Barber, Nova’s Jerothe Named All-Americans Following NCAA Championships 5000 Meter Run Michelle Kruse, UAH Peri Bowman, Nova Kailey Williams, UAH ALLENDALE, MICH – Alabama-Huntsville’s Katelin Barber was named an All-American after both she team points at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Barber ran the fastest 100m in PBC history and was part of a group of seven PBC track & field athletes to compete at the national championships in Allendale, Mich. Barber entered the final event with the seventh-best time of any runner in the preliminaries, and followed that up with a sixth-plac
