Home Living Room & Office One of D&G’s trademarks is to create a neutral palate while playing with a wide variety of textures. The living room and office space serve as a perfect example. In the office (above), two armless accent chairs that boast velvety eggplant stripe upholstery sit atop a gray, white and purple NuLoom rug that features an octagonal pattern. A classic Lucite ghost chair tucks into white built-ins by John Earl to create a complete workspace. The middle of the built-in features a pewter paper that adds texture and a hint of subtle color to tie in the rug and chairs. The framed vintage Chanel poster is one of two in the home, adding a touch of femininity for the woman of the house. A mirrored console table sits under the poster, and a chrome and black silk shade chandelier from Hudson Valley Lighting serves as another transitional piece in the room. In the living room (right), guests can relax on two American Leather sofas in both charcoal gray with ivory pinstripe and eggplant high-performance ultra-suede. An Arteriors aluminum side table with leather straps can serve as a table or stool for extra seating. The ivory wool shag rug is soft yet durable to suit the high-traffic area. For the gas fireplace, D&G decided to go with a lava stone laid in a way to accentuate the many natural patterns of the stone. Oxblood, purple and orange pillows in houndstooth, argyle and snakeskin prints from Kevin O’Brien Studio add an amazing dash of color to both spaces. The walls throughout the main floor living spaces are painted in Sherwin Williams Knitting Needles, with trim painted in Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace. > 54 MAY 2016 (201) GOLD COAST
