The Fort Lee Film Commission has mounted this exhibit about Fox Studio, which was created when Fort Lee was the first American film town. The exhibit includes archival photos and artifacts. Museum hours are noon to 4 p.m. weekends, 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays, and for groups during the week by appointment. Sat., Nov. 22, 10 am to 5 pm; Sun., Nov. 23, 2 pm Weekends and Wednesdays, 7 pm Hudson Theatre Works “Retreat Weekend” The Palisades Interstate Park in New Jersey is hosting “Retreat Weekend” to commemorate the 1776 British invasion of New Jersey and the start of the Continental Army’s historic “retreat to victory.” The annual event will take place at the Fort Lee Historic Park facility. The Revolutionary War program kicks off Saturday, with music, cooking, artillery demonstrations, a parade to Monument Park at noon and more. Sunday, there will be an artillery demonstration. Nov. 4-21, 8 pm The Hudson Theatre Works will present Jackson Is Gone, a world-premiere play by Joanne Hoersch, the company’s artistic director, and directed by Frank Licato, named one of Hudson County’s most influential people. The play examines the nature of irreparable loss, the consequences for our lives, and the slow disappearance from the world of the ancient touchstones we have always relied on for comfort and sustenance. Frank Sinatra Centennial Celebration ROY CARATOZZOLO Sat., Nov. 14, 7:30 pm The Palisades Interstate Park in New Jersey with the Fort Lee Film Commission is sponsoring an evening event celebrating the life and times of Frank Sinatra. Sinatra performed at Bill Miller’s Riviera nightclub atop Fort Lee’s Palisades many times in the 1940s and early 1950s and he made his comeback at the Riviera during a two-week engagement in September 1953. This salute includes a screening of the 1964 film Robin and the 7 Hoods, which features Sinatra and his Rat Pack pals. Musician and singer Thaddeus McGregor will perform Sinatra classics on stage and musician Tom Austin of The Royal Teens will read and sign copies of his new book on the Riviera.
