We thought you would be interested in seeing a typi cal example of the type of misguided publicity that opponents of our breed have been putting out for years. Notice the boots that the blacksmith (he could n’t be a farrier) is putting on the horse and the riding habit of the gentleman who is obviously waiting for his "mean” horse to be prepared for competition. They really studied our breed before thev did this! Nice People 24 THINK pjundreds of people can talk for one who can think. — John Ruskin 62 V\wVC\w— NEW YORK WORLD-TELEGRAM AND SEN. THURSDAY. JANUARY 7. 19CO JUST LOOK AT THIS — Senator Joseph Tydlngs points to the fetlock of an old trouper of the showring which was purchased at the Sale of Champions during the Celeoratlon. The purchasers of this horse, both members of the American Horse Protection Association, an organization which they them selves operate, implied in publicity and in reports to the Tydings Sub-com mittee that this horse was typical of all horses shown at the Celebration. They completely ignored the fact that only 9 horses out of more than 1.500 were eliminated from competition and that the horses were checked all week by representatives of the American Humane Association outside the ring and by Celebration authorities inside the ring.
