When the final workout of 13 horses was ended, il was Marvin and PERFECTION' who were declared ihe winners. Marvin's horse got two first-place votes and one reserve vote, while George and DAN got a first-place tie and two reserves. It was close all the way and both horses made ex­ cellent shows. Jack Moorman and DELIGHT'S FREE 'X EASY kept the pressure on the first two horses while turning in a solid show to finish third. Charlie Bobo rode his highly acclaimed contend­ er to perfection, not doing too much or wasting her unnecessarily. Bobo and his horse received the votes of all three judges for first place. The reserve mare champion was MISS RHYTHM with Huck Moss doing the riding. Donald Paschal and TRIPLE TREAT were a real treat to watch as they competed for the honors in the final grouping of eighteen horses and tied third. One judge tied Gary first, the other judge did not tie him, and the referee placed him third. It all added up to a blue ribbon for a very proud and happy fine young horse- man. The reserve award went to Marvin Wilson riding DELIGHT’S PERFECTION. Although the judges were spread apart in their first-place choices, Marvin was the unanimous pick for re­ serve. The third-place award went to Doug Wol­ aver riding GO BOY’S BLACK BARON. Buddy Black and SIR GALAHAD held down the num­ ber four spot.
