Well known for his remarkable feats as a show horse and amazing ability as a producer of colts of worth. SUN’S DELIGHT was sired by JOE LOUIS ALLEN (registered as MIDNIGHT SUN 410751), a well- known stallion of the Walking Horse breed now deceased. He is out of a mare known as WILSON SNIP’S CHANCE, herself a dam of note who has distinguished the breed considerably. MIDNIGHT SUN was by WILSON’S ALLEN, he by ALLEN DENMARK (registered as ROAN ALLEN F-38) and he by ALLEN, Registered No. 30, the horse owned so long by James R. Brant­ ley (now deceased) of Noah, Tennessee. Registered as ALLAN F-l (note spelling! with this breed, ALLEN was by ALLENDORF and he by ONWARD, reported to be the best of all stallions. His dam was sired by ROYAL DENMARK, owned by W. M. Kirby, of Bowling Green, Ky., and ROYAL DENMARK was sired by the renowned OLD ARTIST, he by GREAT KING WILLIAM, he by WASHINGTON DENMARK, he by GAINES’S DENMARK, he by the old four-mile racer DENMARK, and he by imported HEDGEFORD. His second dam was sired by BULLET, JR., he by TOLBERT FANNING'S VERMONT and he by GIFFORD MORGAN. His third dam was sired by ERONHART’S BROOKS, of Bedford county.
