AWARDS PRESENTATION — Shown receiving the Mike Webb Memorial Challenge Trophy at the recent Searcy Horse Show is Buddy Hugh, winner of the Championship Stake on SUN’S HOLIDAY. PROFESSIONAL SEARCY % WALKING SPONSORED BY WEBB’S RIDING AND SEARCY ClVtTAH CL WHiTt COUNTY GROUNDS The annual Searcy, Arkansas Horse show, sponsored jointly by the Searcy Civitan Club and the Joe Webb Riding Camp, has become firmly established as one of the prominent Walking Horse events of the early sea son. This year, despite the fact that two days of cold and rainy weather preceded the show, they noted a record number of horses and a large attendance. A fine representation of top stables from the West Ten nessee area was on hand, as were prominent stables from Arkansas, Missouri and adjoining states. Judge for Walking Horse classes was Carl Edwards from Dawson, Georgia, who did an excellent job. Announcer O’Neil Howell was backed up in the center of the ring by the organ music of the charming Carrie Neal Foy. Manager Joe Webb was kept busy both in side and outside the ring as he went about seeing that everything ran smoothly. Official Steward was Bob Lindsey of Little Rock, Arkansas, who checked horses outside the ring before each class. It all went off without a hitch and virtually every horse met the requirements for participation. Additional entertainment was furnished by “cow boy” Ken Bowen and his trick horse show.
