THE ENTERTAINER ADDS EXTRA SPARK TO GRAND JUNCTION FIELD TRIALS
One of the most avid bird dog enthusiasts in the nation is Mr . Chester Coon of Biggs , California . Mr . Coon has been an officer in the national association and for many years has been active in the affairs of several bird dog organizations . One of the highlights of the year ’ s activity is the annual professional Bird Dog Field Trials at Grand Junction , Tennessee , near Memphis . This year , Mr . Coon decided to treat his colleagues to an added attraction and had Mr . Joe Webb bring his Reserve World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse , THE ENTERTAINER , to the
field trials for an exhibition .
Mr . Coon unfortunately missed the event due to illness but all observers state that Joe has definitely " made some changes ” since last fall . Reports are that the popular black stallion , a three-time world champion , is showing considerably more action in both the flatfoot walk and the running walk , and is hard as nails . We hope to see him in action soon as he is the leading contender for 1969 honors .
GEORGIA WALKING HORSE EXHIBITORS ’ ASSOCIATION CONFIRMS 1969 SHOW DATES AND JUDGES
A recent bulletin from the Georgia Walking Horse Exhibitors ’ Association announced confirmation of the following show dates and judges . On March 29 , the Evans show will be judged by Donald Paschal . There are six shows confirmed for April . On April 5 , Comer and Adairsville will have shows judged by Carl Jenkins and Joe Houk respectively . Two shows on April 12 also : LaGrange , judged by Dr . Cooley ; and Gainesville , judged by Roy Davis . On April 19 a show will be held in Stone Mountain judged by J . V . Clayton , and on April 26 the show will be in Thomasville judged by Joe Martin . On Wednesday , June 25 , Franklin will host a show judged by R . H . Holley .
These shows should get the Georgia Show Season off to a busy start ; however , the bulletin stated that they have confirmed 23 show dates , other than the eight horse shows already sanctioned by the GWHEA .
