LOWMAN JOINS VOICE STAFF GEORGIA WALKING HORSE EXHIBITORS ASSOCIATION PROUDLY ANNOUNCES In an effort to better serve the growing Walking Horse public, the VOICE has hired Mr. Larry Lowman of Murfreesboro, Tennessee as Assistant Editor. Larry will work out of Middle Tennessee and will maintain offices in Murfreesboro. His primary area of activity will entail considerable travel to various parts of the country to meet the publicity needs of the various Walking Horse stables. He will work with trainers and horse owners with their promotion and advertising plans and will also cover horse shows for the VOICE. Mr. Lowman is a native of North Carolina. He was born in Valdese and started showing pleasure ponies and fancy turnout ponies at the tender age of six. At an early age he became interested in Tennessee Walk ing Horses, as did his father. Indirectly through this interest, the Lowmans moved to Murfreesboro in 1964. Larry has worked in various phases of the horse business and for three years he was affiliated with the Sam Paschal Stables in Murfreesboro. He assisted in the breeding program of SETTING SUN, the 1958 World Grand Champion standing at Paschal Stables, and also assisted in the training of some of the show stock there. In 1967 Mr. Lowman established a small training operation of his own and for the past two years has worked and shown several horses under his own stable name. At present, Larry is a student at Middle Tennessee State University. He has been majoring in pre-veterin- ary studies but will shortly change his major to journ alism and continue his studies in this field. He will continue as an Assistant Editor of the VOICE Publish ing Company while finishing his education at M.T.S.U. As his background indicates, Larry Lowman is well- qualified to work in all areas of horse activity and comes well recommended for this job. He will be de lighted to hear from you and will try to include as many stables as possible in his schedule of "barn storming” throughout the country. Anyone interested in contacting Mr. Lowman can write Route 3, Pitts Lane, Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37130, or phone Mur freesboro 896-1589 or Tullahoma 455-4111. Ml?
