Three-Year-Old Class . And then . . . then the rains came . The Thursday evening performance was called off . The class was held the following afternoon on a track that was in excellent condition under the circumstances . Heavy fodder had been spread over the soggy track in an effort to give the horses better footing . It was somewhat spongy and difficult for all the horses . It didn ’ t take long , however , for Buddy Hugh to reach the disheartening conclusion that he could not continue . DELIVERY had been groomed to a fine edge . He had been worked long and hard in preparation for that " one class " and , like a lot of other horses , he fell victim to the onslaught of nature for which there is no recourse . They took the gate after the first workout .
Disheartened and disillusioned , a saddened young trainer and a confused young horse slowly made their way back to the truck . Looking into the sad eyes of SPECIAL DELIVERY even under the best of conditions , one feels as if he is " sorry he can ’ t do more " for his master . In this event , he tried ! Mr . Hugh apologized to DELIVERY ’ S owner , Mr . Sheely , and was pleased with his truly sportsmanlike attitude : " Don ’ t worry about it . . . we ’ ll get ' em next year ." Well , next year is here ! The 1969 season saw an even bigger and better SPECIAL DELIVERY emerge for action . Several important changes had taken place in the months between his last performance of 1968 and his first of 1969 , however . The successful partnership of Green and Hugh had joined forces again , and Toby Green leased his stable and rejoined Buddy in a bigger and better business . They had been partners several years before and each had gone his separate way , but events dictated that they could do better working together .
Anothe . recent event at the Green & Hugh Stables was the marriage of Mr . Hugh to the former Janie Bramlett , an accomplished horsewoman in her own rh :!? i and a popular Walking Horse exhibitor . From Cwford , Mississippi , Mrs . Hugh has added greatly to rogram and is a genuine asset to the Green & Hugh Stable operations .

FACILITIES FOR SELLEBR ATI ON SALE NEAR COMPLETION AT BOBO STABLES
A hustling crew of carpenters , painters and other workmen were recently noted making the final additions to the new auction and stabling facilities at the Bobo Stables in Shelbyville . Preparations for the first annual " Sellebration Sale " are nearing completion and they should be ready for the more than 200 fine yearlings that will be auctioned at the Sale on the last Friday and Saturday of the Celebration this year .
This sale developed as the result of a real need in the Walking Horse to provide a marketplace for top colts that are sired by stallions other than those that currently have an auction backing them up . In recent years it has become more and more obvious that relatively few of our young horses were being featured in the marketplace simply because there was no auction held to sell them . In the case of young horses of the MIDNIGHT SUN vintage , the fine Harlinsdale Sale was the place where an owner could sell his colts . The Sale of Champions has , in recent years , become an excellent sales factor for horses of the GO BOY and related bloodlines , and the Hengen-Lenox Sale has done an excellent job of getting CARBON COPY and B . MAJOR WILSON stock on the market . But what about the other horses ?
It is our understanding that the Sellebration Sale has been filled with good young horses since a few months after it was announced . It is owned and managed by C . A . Bobo and Sons in partnership with C . M . Waters .
