(Continued from page 50) Celebration this year. Truly a great horse in perform ance and conformation, he promises to be quite a sire, also. He was bred to two mares last year and six this year. Nelson has one of his colts, ROYAL CROWN, foaled July 2, that is something else. Tom is working a nice big SUN’S DELIGHT filly, a two-year-old, for Thomas Eaton. She is a big-lick filly that’s doing well, and should be in top form for the Celebration. Becky Bass has a nice Juvenile mare with Tom. Nelson Holt has a wide selection of top broodmares and colts, all by top horses, for sale at his farm in Goodlettsville at all times. DICK MYERS STABLES Virginia will be well-represented at the Celebration when Dick Myers pulls into the show grounds. Dick is taking down six horses and hopes to bring a few of those beautiful ribbons back home to Broadway, Va. For the two-year-old division, Dick will be showing a sorrel stallion by GO BOY’S JIM DANDY for J. D. Stokely of Falls Church. MR. SHOWMAN is his name and he is considered great by all horsemen who have seen him. Don’t miss seeing SOUVENIR’S WONDER . . . that flashy red sorrel that Dick will show in the three-year- old stallion class. WONDER is proudly owned by Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Bell of Haymarket. He is ready and waiting, with a big lick! JIM DANDY’S GO BOY will be returning to Shelby- ville to compete in the four-year-old stallion class. This pretty black stud also belongs to Mr. and Mrs. Stokely. JIM DANDY is just full of natural ability and is waiting to show it off with Dick in the saddle. Dick will be showing Mr. Stokely’sTHE CANDYMAN in the aged gelding class. This fiery gelding has a back end out of this world and will show what he can do the first week in September. PRIDE’S DREAM GIRL, owned and shown by Miss Barbara Corbett of Clear Spring, Maryland, will be making her way into the Ladies Amateur Mare Class. This well-matched pair have been carrying home the blues all season and hope to keep up the good work while in Tennessee. Miss Joyce Hanger of Staunton will be making her first trip around the big Celebration ring, but it won’t be new ground for her well-known gelding, THE BUM BLE BEE. BEE is working better than ever and has nine blues to his credit. He’ll be walking his big lick in the Ladies Amateur Gelding Class. PAUL SMITH Paul Smith has leased Battleground Stables in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, and has recently taken over the entire barn. He shared the 24-stall barn with Jim Babb for several months, until Jim could get his new facilities in Cleveland, Tennessee far enough along to move his horses. Paul was operating his own stable in Alachua, Flor- dia prior to his move to this fine facility just outside Chattanooga, Tennessee. Paul is rapidly filling the 24 stalls and has some top contenders to take to the Celebration despite his having been extremely busy getting his moving completed. Some of the horses Paul will be showing at the Cel ebration are: DELIGHT’S DEBUTANTE, junior mare; DOLL, three-year-old mare; SUN’S seldirig; and iMAJ- uRE b (qJUEEi. GIii, aged mare. 96 JUDGES ANNOUNCED FOR BREEDERS’ ASSOCIATION WALKING HORSE FUTURITY A late news item from Mrs. Sharon Brandon reveal ed the selection of judges for the 1969 Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ Association Annual Futurity.
