The liveliness of the night did not end when the horses had been worked , however , for Alvin sold his two-year-old bay MACK K stallion to Paul Dabbs of Jackson .
The party was quite a success and continued into the morning hours . The tackroom became a dance floor before it was over .
Delta Valley Stables is a workable barn and its owners extend a cordial invitation to visitors .
MOONGLOW STABLES
Boyd Melton , trainer , and his assistant Chesley Black have a number of fine entries from the Moonglow Stables , Barnwell , South Carolina . Owners Mr . and Mrs . Herbert Black , Jr . have had to expand with a five-stall addition and a new office to take care of these fine horses .
Their starting two-year-old entry will be KAY ’ S MISS SECRET , a black filly owned by Miss Kay Flowers , Bishopville . Kay also has an aged black stud , SHADOW ’ S SNAPBACK , that Boyd will show in the Stud & Gelding Classes .
SPIRIT KING OF ROAD by SPIRIT OF MIDNIGHT will be their three-year-old entry . This chestnut stud , owned by Edward Richardson , Barnwell , is reportedly doing well in all three gaits .
A blue roan SUN ’ S DELIGHT stud , LITTLE DE- HT . owned by Paul and Earl Hartzog of Norway , ily " walk on ” in Junior Classes . Boyd also rej '. eri- - . hat excellent progress is being made with two is , one a chestnut sorrel by BOMB ’ S BALmc the other a black stud by SUN ’ S DE-

RYDER WALKING HORSE STABLE
... Crowder Stable will be presenting many
.• vines in 1969 . The most recent of these is an . C ng gelding , EBONY ’ S OLD CROW , purchased S . W . Beech and Billy Hale , with C . A . Bobo as agent , for young Joanne Childre to show in Juvenile ■- vents . Joanne is the daughter of Mr . and Mrs . R . E . Fields of Goldsboro , North Carolina . OLD CROW ’ s long record of wins is sure to continue for his new owner and we predict they will make a top Juvenile team .
Premiering in the Amateur ranks for the first time in Montgomery was another of Dude ’ s outstanding teams — CRIMSON TIDE and A . Hobgood of Smithfield , North Carolina . With a few months of practice , this pair will be ready !
Those who have watched him work say that Bill Medlin ’ s two-year-old Futurity stud , DELIGHT ’ S RED SHADOW by SUN ’ S DELIGHT , will create an even greater sensation than did his 1968 star , COPY ’ S RECORD . This will be one to really watch for !
Another outstanding two-year-old colt who will be
A ‘ H ° b good ’ s black stud colt , STAIk^ KNIGHT by STATELY GO BOY AGAIN This is a beautiful bold-moving colt . . A bTl^ck three-year-old mare by MIDNIGHT SUN ACAI .\, owned by Sunny Chumbly , Drake Branch ,

48 teammate , Nancy Elliott . COLONIAL ’ S MIDNITE MASQUERADE E . will be a new entry for the Colonial Horses owned by Boyd Elliott , Raleigh , later in the season . This flashy filly will debut in three-year-old classes with Dude up and will switch to juvenile classes in mid-season with Nancy taking the reins .
O . B . Stansfield ’ s tremendous stud , SUN ’ S BLACK SHADOW , will be a most formidable entry in stake classes this season . His performance in the Murfreesboro Show last year left no doubt that he can go
with the best .
Also attracting a lot of attention last year was Clarence Edwards ’ stud , GREENBACK ’ S SHADOW by GREENBACK MONEYTREE . He ’ ll be back this season in junior classes .
ELLIS , LOWE AND LOWE MOVE DOUBLE DELIGHT TO STEVE HILL STABLES
DOUBLE DELIGHT 00 , perhaps the most discussed horse of 1968 , considering his limited showring action , has been moved from Elmore Brock Stables in Sparta , Tennessee to the Steve Hill Stables . Brock , who showed this brilliant deep sorrel stallion to victory in the Two-Year-Old Championship in 1967 , showed him sparingly last year as a three-year-old and did not compete with him at the Celebration .
His owners , Jim Ellis of Greensboro , North Carolina , and Morrison and Bob Lowe of Cookeville , Tennessee , stated that Mr . Brock had done an excellent job with DOUBLE DELIGHT and that it was with his full consent that they moved the horse . Now a junior horse , he poses a genuine threat to all horses in this class for 1969 . Reportedly he is greater than ever , and Steve Hill is getting along very well with him .
ELLIS AND WRIGHT BOAST TOP BREEDING PROGRAM
Dr . Jim Ellis and Dr . Bill Wright , partners in a wellplanned Walking Horse breeding program , boast one of the finest brood mare bands in the nation . A recent letter from Dr . Ellis said that their breeding program started with MY SHADY LADY , the dam of DOUBLE DELIGHT 00 , and has grown to include a band of select mares that produced eight top colts last year .
They have diversified their program to include mares with such top breeding as LITTLE MERRY BOY , GO BOY ’ S SHADOW , SHADOW ’ S RED WARRIOR , MERRY GO BOY and MIDNIGHT IKE . Crossing these fine mares with such blood as SUN ’ S DELIGHT , MIDNIGHT SUN GLO O and EBONY MASTERPIECE has produced a crop of colts that has been truly outstanding . Colts from the 1968 crop have already distinguished themselves and it looks as if the 1969 crop will also be distinguished .
Dr . Ellis is particularly pleased with the continued good results with the colts out of MY SHADY LADY . She has had four colts and all have been top colts . Her four crosses of WILSON ’ S ALLEN in four generations and the " one shot ’’ of GIOVANNI have added something extra to the productive quality of this mare .
Ellis and Wright are also proud of their stallion , MIDNIGHT SUN GLO O , now standing at Stallion Stables . He was bred consistently last year and it looks as if 1969 will be even better with James Rowland handling the program . This black stallion first attracted attention as the sire of MR . GLO , 1967 Reserve World Grand Champion , and it is said that he has amazing ability to pass on his own qualities to his colts .
