The first blue ribbon of the 1968 Celebration was won by KERCHF ' S EBONY DREAM for owner Marie Musgrave . This fine-looking filly was the choice of the judges over a class full of outstanding entries . The opening-night crowd at the Celebration expressed approval of the decision . The reserve tie went to DELIGHT ’ S CAPER and owners Mr . and Mrs . J . Mac Carter , a fine entry that was in contention for the blue ribbon all of the way . Tying third was SPIRIT ’ S CINDY KAY for owners Dr . and Mrs . DeWitt Owen , Jr . This fine entry showed the results or intelligent breeding and careful grooming .

GO BOY ’ S CROWN ROYAL owned by Jones & Williamson won the blue ribbon from the judges and generous applause from the crowd with a fine appearance in the Celebration ring . This smart-looking coll was the finest of one of the best colt classes in years and observers will be looking for this horse in the future . The reserve tie went to RING COMMANDER for R . L . Newnum . RING COMMANDER was presented in fine style and showed the benefits of many hours of work and planned breeding . Tying the third spot was COLONEL MIDNIGHT for owner Bob Nelms .
