When he hosts a party, he also makes it the best. This was the case as a large group of Tennessee Walking Horse enthusiasts gathered at the Fashion Two Twenty Stables in Aurora, Ohio to honor the people who had contributed to the outstanding vic tories of this famous stable throughout the year. "Red” and Alice Gochneaur went to great lengths to make everyone feel at home, and as the gathering of ficially got underway on Sunday, October 6, it was obvious that a good time was to be had by all. An entourage of Walking Horse personalities arrived Saturday from the Volunteer State and were greeted by the Fashion Two Twenty party van at the airport. From then until late Sunday evening it was a round- robin affair with plenty of laughter, entertainment and fun. Mr. Gochneaur had searched for some adequate entertainment for this party and became so enthusi astic about two night club acts that he eventually ended up purchasing the acts and is now in "show business” for real. He is now the proud owner of the Tokyo Happy Coats, a group of five beautiful Japan ese girls who sing, dance, and play a host of instru ments. The other act is composed of two Philippinos who do a "Dean Martin — Jerry Lewis” routine. Both were great and both should do well in the entertain ment field. Roger Gochneaur was the official "hostmaster” and did an excellent job of keeping everything moving. 34 Sunday afternoon we were privileged to witness per formances by all the new Fashion Two Twenty World Champions as well as a new black aged stallion nam ed MR. FANTASTIK, which trainer Albert Rowland says is one of the best around. JUDGES’ CHOICE, MISTER REE, GREGG’S PERFECTION, EBONY ROSE, and BETTY’S MASTERPIECE (now named MISS AUDRY) all showed what championship horses are made of, and their respective trainers were more than pleased to show them off. We were all pleased to receive a grand tour of the new Gochneaur estate next to the stables. Mr. and Mrs. Gochneaur have recently completed a beautiful new home that would have looked very much in place on a Southern plantation a century ago. It is a two- story brick with white columns in front and makes an imposing picture at the end of a driveway that is at least a quarter of a mile long. Another highlight of the party was a fine catered dinner on the grounds. Everyone was seated under a tent beside the stable and a full-course dinner, com plete with Kansas City steaks, was enjoyed by all. From here we returned to the stable where a stage and dance floor were set up so everyone could witness the newly-acquired night club acts. From early even ing until the wee hours it was just "one big party” with entertainment, dancing, and plenty to eat and drink. There were over two hundred in attendance and on behalf of everyone I would like to thank Fashion Two Twenty for a wonderful time. This affair was a credit to the Gochneaurs and the fine contribution that they make to the Walking Horse community. Voice of the Tennessee Walking Horse
