Visitors are always welcome at the stable and horses can be seen working at almost any time . They now have openings for outside horses , especially in the aged horse category .

ER , a beautiful roan stud , who will be shown in the Southwest this year and bred to a limited number of mares . Monty Evans , formerly of Tulsa , Oklahoma , will be managing and training at the large facility . Johnathan Morse will be aiding in the public relations area . BOB REID STABLES
Just north of the Shelbyville turnoff from Lewisburg , Tennessee is a fine stable facility owned and operated by Bob Reid , Sr . and Bob Reid , Jr . This father-andson combination has done well for the past few years and , since moving into their new quarters last year , has made a lot of progress . They are working a total of 28 head and have some good stock to show for their efforts .
Somewhat overloaded with young stock — they are working nine three-year-olds and sixteen two-yearolds — they express an interest in obtaining some age stock . It appears that they made the grade with what they had and sold ' em all . Outstanding among the three-year-olds is a fine SUN ’ S DELIGHT mare owned by Mr . and Mrs . J . P . Gracy of Fayetteville , Tennessee . She is a deep roan with flax mane and tail and " can do .” S . W . Beech and Paul Wallace own a real good EBONY mare that is doing well . This bay mare should make some good shows this season .
The Reids have ROCKET ’ S ROSE , another bay mare , and SENATOR MIDNIGHT , a black stud belonging to Jerry Bradford . John Wood owns part of the stud and they are pleased with his progress . M . G . Shook of Lexington , Alabama is proud of his stud , EBONY PRINCE . He is by MACK K ’ S REBEL and should make a good one . Also , Ivan Coxon of Lewisburg has a black stud by SHADOW ’ S SUPER IOR that is making good progress .
In the two-year-old bracket they have a black MID NIGHT SUN filly owned by Mr . and Mrs . J . P . Gracy . She is reported to be a top prospect that is really doing well . Joe Martin of Fayetteville has a black filly named EBONY ’ S HIGH SOCIETY . She is a Futurity colt that is coming on . Jim Beasley of Athens , Alabama has a MIDNIGHT SUN stud colt , and Dave Grissom of Athens has a grandson of GO BOY ’ S
SHADOW that is making progress . Bay Roberts of Lewisburg has a black GO BOY stud colt , and B .
Earl Puckett has a sorrel stud . Susie Beasley Day still has SHADOW ’ S RED SPARK LER in training and can be expected to make some top shows with this fine amateur horse this season . Both of the Reids have been busy training and selling

GAYNES LUNA STABLES
We should be hearing some good reports from the Gaynes Luna Stables in Lewisburg before the season gets too far underway . Gaynes has always been regarded as a good horseman and this year he has the best stock he has had in several years . He is particularly pleased with two Junior horses owned by Mr . and Mrs . A1 Archer of Chattanooga . SUN ’ S KING EDWARD is a big bay horse that reminds a lot of people of TRIPLE THREAT as a four-year-old . He and FLASHING MIDNIGHT , a black stud with a lot of motion and ability , should make themselves known this year . Gaynes is also working SUN ’ S TALK OF THE TOWN , a bay Junior gelding that is also owned by the Archers .
Guy Wallace of Nashville has a fine black two-yearold by LITTLE MAN ’ S SENSATION that is reported to be a real big-lick colt . Gerald Hemmer has a red roan two-year-old filly by MIGHTY RED MAN out of an EASTER GO BOY mare that is making good progress . Also , Pamela Rychen of Nashville has a black stud colt that should do well later in the season .
In the age classes Gaynes will be showing MR . MODERATOR , a big sorrel by MOUNTAIN MAN ’ S GO BOY . He is owned by Bobby Luna , a retired professional football player who claims some kin to Gaynes Luna , the professional hoss trainer . Gaynes is standing IKE ’ S TRADITION , a chestnut stud by MIDNIGHT IKE out of a LAST CHANCE mare .
THOMPSON SELLS EBONY ’ S SENATOR Ever since the Fayetteville , Tennessee horse show early in the spring , the big word around Middle Tennessee has been about a top Junior stud named EB ONY ’ S SENATOR . This big black horse was shown to an impressive blue by Marvin Wilson . He was riding out of the Vic Thompson Stables in Shelbyville . Shortly after this show we received word that Mr . P . E . Summers of Smithville , Tennessee had purchased the horse for top dollar . Mr . Summers is a relative newcomer to the Walking Horse business and has been active at the L . M . Murphy Stables in Smithville . He is District Manager for the Combined Insurance Company of America , a well-known firm that specializes in Health , Accident and Hospitalization coverage . It appears that Mr . Summers got started right because all reports are that EBONY ’ S SENATOR is a true contender for Championship honors this year .
