ODE TO A TENNESSEE WALKING HORSE
My mane is long My coat is sleek My ears are short My chest is deep . I ’ m a Walking Horse !
My colors are many ,
They come various ways . They could be black ,
Or they could be bays . I ’ m a Walking Horse !
I ’ m ready to go . My pride is great , For I ’ m a descendant
Of Roan Allen F-38 . I ’ m a Walking Horse !
My walk is fast . My canter is sublime . My disposition is good I ’ m ready to ride ; just anytime . I ’ m a Walking Horse !
I climb the mountains , I trod the hills . My glide is smooth ,
Without any spills . I ’ m a Walking Horse !
I ’ ll always work hard , And I ’ ll give you my best . Just feed me good , And don ’ t forget the rest . I ’ m a Walking Horse !
I fill the arenas , I pack them to the rafters . I give them thrills , I give them laughter . I ’ m a Walking Horse !
I have great ambitions , As you probably know . There ’ s one thing I like to do , And that ’ s to make a show . I ’ m a Walking Horse !
I like most people , And I don ’ t hold a grudge . But I could kick the pants Of an unfair judge . I ’ m a Walking Horse !
I have lots of fans , For this , there is a reason , Because my style is great The whole long season . I ’ m a Walking Horse !
I ’ m not stuck up , And I ’ m not snobby , But I ’ m proud of one thing : You ’ ve chosen me for a hobby .
I ’ m a Walking Horse !
If you like my style , And you like my poses ,
Just adorn my neck
With World Champion roses . I ’ m a Tennessee Walking Horse !

" I started using Corona when I was at the Circle T Ranch out in Roanoke , Texas . It ' s the best antiseptic dressing and lubricant I ever found . The way it keeps horses from having quarter cracks , makes hair grow , and makes
callouses shed . " It ' s especially helpful to me , being a Tennessee Walking man . When I ' m showing , I rub it on the horse ' s ankles before I put the boots on . That keeps the ankles from getting irritated . Keeps sores from coming up . And , if
any of my horses get chain sores , I rub it in every night and bandage the ankles . In three to five days , the hair will start coming through and the callouses will shed . Corona really gets down in there and soothes . " Another thing . When the coronary band gets dry and
hard , it busts and leaves quarter cracks . If you ' ll apply Corona around the band ' s edge — only takes two or three minutes to work it in — you ' ll see that crack healing within 8 to 10 days . " Corona is good for harness sores , girth galls , rope bums , too . It ' s the best remedy for foundered horses — keeps the soles of their feet soft and flexible . And the race track people recommend it for hobble sores .
" It ' s easy to see , I swear by Corona . Try it . You will , too .''
