SCAT MAN has been on the verge of increased popularity since his Celebration victory with Jimmy McFarlin in the sad dle and with his first year as a major breeding stal lion behind him we should be seeing a lot of top colts by him shortly. He came into the limelight by being the sire of SUPER SPORT and has since attracted a lot ol attention as a breeder. 12th ANNUAL HARLINSDALE SALE SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 4-6 DURING CELEBRATION The well-established and highly regarded Harlins- dale Sale will be held again this year during the week of the Celebration. This is the 12th Annual Sale of MIDNIGHT SUN bred yearling colts and fillies and will provide buyers an opportunity to select from more than 150 top quality yearlings. Farm manager Harlin Hayes is expecting one of the top sales in the bright history of Harlinsdale. This sale is always heavily attended as Celebration visitors know that they can see top quality stock as well as some of the best sires in the country at this beautiful farm. FAMILY OF TIGERS ADDS EXTRA INTEREST TO SALE OF CHAMPIONS In an unusual bit of promotion, the 1968 Sale of Showring Champions will have a consignment of truly top stock featuring TIGER BAY and other horses from the Harber and Cherry Stables, Centerville, Tennessee. This consignment is news indeed and we found no better way to tell the story than to reprint a letter written by Mr. Dee Kilpatrick of Brentwood, Tennessee, to the owners of the Sale of Champions. His letter is as follows: ci tw ’S ACCENT — Four-year-old black MIDNIGHT SUN mare in foal to SUN’S DELIGHT. T?icrht head in seven lots: We plan to have an edi torial concerning the sale of the 'TIGERS’ in the July Ngue of the VOICE magazine. We also plan a full - * age ad for the August or Celebration issue of the VOICE publicizing this sale. We shall probably do a mailing also on this sale. We will have one or two promotion projects at the Celebration. Please bear in mind that this is not an inventory proposition, it is certainly our intent to sell this stock. They will be in excellent condition. As indicated above, it is our intent to make this offering known to Tennessee Walking Horse owners. We shall aid and abet any way that we can to fur ther insure top attendance at your sale, particularly on this specific day. We would welcome suggestions from both of you. Sincerely, DEE KILPATRICK Harber and Cherry Stables” Seldom has such a select group of horses been consigned by one stable to make available the "best” to the buying public. In discussing the sale with Bob Cherry, trainer for Harber and Cherry Stables, he said "make no mistake about it.....we will sell these horses at the sale. We will also show both TIGER BAY and TIGER LILLY in preliminary classes at the Celebration and will do whatever the new owners desire in the Two-Year-Old and Three-Year-Old Stake Classes. It is our opinion that the best policy busi- nesswise is to keep good stock moving and take what ever profit or loss occurs after a specified period of Ume.” , . Not since TRIPLE THREAT went through the Mur ray Farm Sale has such an outstanding offer been made in the sale arena. This should be the big at traction of 1968. WATCH FOR MIDNIGHT SUNDOWN "Dear S.
