TEXAS BREEDERS’ ASSOCIATION
HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING
The Texas Walking Horse Breeders’ Association
held its annual meeting January 20 in Garland, Tex
as. There were forty-four Walking Horse lovers who
braved the rain to attend the meeting.
Mr. Ray Wilson of the Texas State Fair met with
the group to tell of the Fair’s continuing interest in
our breed and to describe improvements on the facil
ities at Dallas. A covered work area and more stalls
are planned. Dallas will be an exhibitor’s "dream
facility” when work is completed.
Dr. Byron Landress reported that the 1967 Texas
Walking Horse Breeders’ Futurity was a success. For
information on the 1968 Futurity write Dr. J. Byron
Landress, 705 Walter Reed Blvd., Garland, Texas.
He will send you forms to nominate your stock.
Mrs. Kenneth Walker confirmed the rumor that the
Dallas Spring Show will be an all-jumper show. The
Walking Horse people will now join forces with the
Arabian and Saddle Horse fanciers to promote a show
in Dallas around the middle of June. This will be a
new show that will need the very best efforts of all
exhibitors.
