ON THE MASON-DIXON LINE by SALLY SAWYER S. DIXIE HIGHWAY —FRANKLIN, OHIO The Walking Horse shows in this part of the country are sure picking up in the calibre of horses and the way these shows are being judged. Winchester, Ken tucky had Jim Baldwin who called horses as he saw them. Burlington, the Ohio Valley Show, was judged by Toby Green and Higginsport, Ohio by Junior Gor don. Both were expertly judged. A1 White outdid him self in the managing of the Higgensport show, one which should get bigger and better. Now we are look ing forward to the Boone County Fair, Dayton; and Butler County show, Sportsman’s Club, Hamilton, O. Also, I don’t want to overlook the fine job that Bob Russman did in Hamilton last week! Despite the extra amount of work that it takes, it has really been fun keeping the horses clean and pre sentable. It sure is a challenge but seems to be pay ing off. Our compliments go to Herman Ingram with TOM MY TELL who seems to get getting better at each show. Keep up the good work! We have been fortunate to have Lee Jones with us this year and his junior horse is a real addition to our stable. He has been challenging every junior class and winning his share. We predict that he will hit the big time and stay there. Next big show is Dayton and then on to the Celebration. Watch for him! Another big challenger in our area is that high- stepping two-year-old of Damon Dunaway’s. This is a big black high-going DELIGHT colt that is first or second every time out. We hope Damon can keep him going because this colt is a credit to any trainer. Helen Cobb is tickled to death — her MACK K’S KITTY just had a beautiful filly by BLACK RHYTHM. From the way Helen talks, this colt may turn out to be a world’s champion. We’ll be watching for her with in the next few years. I’m glad to see that the plantation classes have been added to many of the shows in this area. There have been many fine entries in these classes and I hope that they continue. To me, this could come to be one of the great classes which are so much fun, not only to show in but also to see. MURRAY YEAR FARM SALE Hft« WORLD’S LARGEST WALKING HORSE SALE SELL HERE ... RUY HERE!
