( Continued from Page 6 )
CHATTERBOX takes on an entirely new role this year . He is the leading contender for the Celebration Grand Championship this season and he is being campaigned for that title . After the Southwest Circuit his trainer and owner will turn toward Middle Tennessee in search of supporters . They shouldn ’ t have much trouble in gathering the approval of Walking Horse people everywhere because GO BOY S CHATTERBOX is everything that a World Champion should be . He is a credit to the breed and he has taken on and defeated during the past two year almost every contender in his class . Shirley Sharp , proud owner of this fine horse , has placed complete confidence in her trainer Bud Seaton . They believe it can be done and so do a lot of other people . Time will tell !
Bud Seaton is working about ten horses at the Blue Bonnet Stables beside CHATTERBOX . Among the best is EBONY ’ S SENATOR , a black three year old stallion that recently won his class at Tyler , Texas , and HANDSHAKER ’ S PRINCESS . 1966 Reserve Champion Junior Mare , that is in excellent form and ready to go . Shirley Sharp will again be in the show ring and this year will be riding a new mare named SPECIAL ’ S FAIR LADY in Ladies Amateur and Open Amateur Classes .
When the “ Palace from Dallas ,” the traveling bus that carries the Blue Bonnet Stables supporters , drives up to the Celebration grounds this vear , you can bet that there will be plenty to talk about because GO BOY ’ s CHAT TERBOX will have his day .

Oakwood Acres Sale Brings Back Memories
While attending the recent auction sale at Oakwood Acres , one could not help but ponder the tradition that lingered in the halls of this fine stable and the reflections of the past that hung beneath the giant oaks that surround the big stone barn . Known by most “ old timers ” as the “ old Rambo place ,” Oakwood Acres has been the center of attention for Walking Horse lovers for almost fifty years . STROLLING JIM , the first of all World Champions , was stabled here and was shown by Floyd Carothers , who worked horses out of this stable during the 1930 ’ s and early forties . Following in succession after the 1939 victory of STROLLING JIM came such wellknown Walking Horse notables as MELODY MAID , the 1942 World Champion ; CITY GIRL , the 1944 World Champion ; and WILSON ’ S ALLEN , JR ., one of the
great breeding horses of early days .
The sale , originally scheduled for April 6th and 7th , was terminated in one day of selling . As we observed the big tent coming down we felt that this was perhaps a reflection of a trend that would see several new auctions take a second look at the market and take anothci approach next year . Oakwood Acres ’ first sale was managed by Mr .' Adrian Light , with the assistance of Ann Bowles . The Auctioneer was Eddie Bryant who had a
MAY , 1967 good ground crew to assist him in the sale of the more than fifty horses that went through .
Timing this year was most difficult as there was a major Walking Horse Auction every week for almost two months . With another major Middle Tennessee sale coming the following week , it was most difficult to get buyers and sellers to make two trips to the Walking Horse state two weeks in a row .
