OF TENNESSEE WALKING HORSE
BREEDERS ASSN. HELD MAY 27th
Lewisburg, Tenn., May 26 — The
annual meeting of the Tennessee Walk­
ing Horse Breeders Association of
America was held at the Association
offices in Lewisburg, Tennessee on Sat­
urday, May 27. General order of bus­
iness was to elect two new Directors
for a three year term and to report to
the membership on matters relating to
the financial condition of the Associa­
tion and on plans for the coming year.
President Jerome Ryan of Hatties­
burg, Mississippi, who was elected to
a two year term of office last year, pre­
sided with his usual business manner
and did a good job of conducting the
meeting. The report of the finance
committee was handled by Mr. M. G.
Williams of Hopkinsville, Kentucky,
who reported that the Association is
in excellent condition in this regard.
Highlight of this report was news that
some prime acreage had been pur­
chased by the Association for future
construction of a new national head--
quarters building.

tendance and a majority of this group
met for a luncheon sponsored by the
Association at the county park after
the meeting.
At a board meeting after the lunch­
eon, several items of important busi­
ness were brought before the board in­
cluding an outline presented by Mr.
Pete Yokley, Chairman of the Public
Relations/Publicity Committee, for a
national promotion program for the
Tennessee Walking Horse sponsored by
the Breeders Association. A report on
the decision of the board regarding this
presentation will be made later.
