MISSOURI WALKING HORSE NEWS by EFFALES POSENKE The Thompson Stables at West Plains, Missouri is a very busy place this winter with every stall full, and sales good. Paul Thompson, owner of the stable, found he was unable to work all the good horses in his stable, but was fortunate enough to hire Bill Paschal to help train. Bill has been training Walking Horses in Kentucky and Ten nessee for several years and is doing a fine job. We have a nice six-year-old mare in training for Mr. Rick Oliver of Glendale, California, and she is getting along well. BIG MAN’S PERFECTION, a big black gelding, is walking the way you like to see them walk. He is being trained for Mrs. Alice Thompson and Mr. Cook of Columbia ALLEN BOY is a big beautiful red sorrel being trained for Mr. and Mrs. James Burt, Jr. of Desota, Missouri. W. H. BAY BOY, a beautiful gelding, is working the best. He is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Bill Thompson of Frcdcrickstown, Missouri. We have also started a colt for Mr. Thompson. He is by MIDNIGHT HIGH NOON, and is doing very well. SHARON’S GO BOY is a black stud that is doing fine for Mr. Don Hardaway of Strawberry, Arkansas. We have two nice geldings, a SUN DUST horse and a GO BOY horse, for the Dr. Ray Ledgcrwood family of West Plains, Missouri. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rollins of Kansas own a beautiful black gelding that is doing very good job. We have just started a nice black filly for Mr. Melvin Newman of West Plains, Mo. A big bav stud colt has also just been started for Mr. Joe Hyder of Buffalo, Mo. Mr. Dave Mills and daughter of Lebanon, Missouri, brought us a nice black filly that is really starting out good. DANNY GOLD FIRE, a two-year-old son of DANNY GO BOY, has us all feeling good because he is sure mak ing a real Walking Horse. RED SHADOW, a three-year-old Walking Horse, owned by Mr. Lloyd Bonjour of Springfield, Missouri, has the ability to walk and win with the best. After two years of rest from an injury, MIDNIGHT HIGH NOON is working in top form and will be seen at the better shows this year. As you can see, the Thompsons are quite busy, and you can expect to see them with a winning string of horses at the shows.
