Outstanding nomina tions plus plenty of hospitality for the spectators should make it a record-setter in every way. We have been asked “what do you have to do to get a cover of the VOICE.” It is simple! Reserve it now for a later date. We have confirmed cover reservations going into 1969. The remainder of 1967 is sold out and we have only one (1) open (as of this writing) for 1968. We try to be selective with our front cover space and give horse people from different parts of the nation a chance to get it. We would like to point out that a “feature” story always goes with the front cover horse. Many people think that we are “play-ing favorites” when they see a big story- on a particular horse in the magazine, not real izing that the horse is on the front cover. There are basically five (5) prime spots in the VOICE that are favorites of advertisers: The Cover, the Back Cover, the Inside Front and Back Covers and the Center Spread. We usually are sold out three or four months ahead on this space so if you want to promote a top horse for next year . . . make your reservations NOW! P.S. We always have an ample supply of full pages open each month. And remember you reach several thousand more Walking Horse enthusiasts in the VOICE than in any other magazine. Our circulation is unmatched in the Walking Horse world and it is growing every day, thanks to you. The show will be held on the Celebration grounds in Shclbyville as usual and admission will be open to the public free of charge. The first class will enter the ring at 7:30 P.M. and approximately $18,000 in prize money- will be given to the winners in the six classes. The judges for this year’s show will be C. H. William son from Brentwood, Tennessee, Lucian Scott from Lewis burg, Tennessee, and Marshall Ledbetter from Columbia, Tennessee. Nominations for the show include 52 stallions, 333 mares, 185 yearlings and 72 two-year-olds. Many of the horses shown in this futurity are the future greats of the breed. This will be an excellent op portunity to assess many of the young horses now being raised by the top breeders of the business. The Breeders Association cordially invites everyone to attend. It should be a very' interesting show. AUGUST, 1967 11
