TENNESSEE STATE COLT SHOW ASSOCIATION FUTURITY GREAT SUCCESS
The Tennessc State Colt Show Association held its
First Annual Futurity in Murfreesboro, Tennesssee, on
August 24th, before a jam-packed crowd of pre-Celebra-
tion Walking Horse enthusiasts. The Grantland Rice
Park was filled to overflowing as the nine classes got
underway at 7:30.
In a current program of building, the Tennessee
State Colt Show Association was well pleased with this
premier Futurity of top Tennessee Walking Horse colts
and President Bob Womack stated that participation,
entries and enthusiasm was far above their expectations.
The largest class of the evening was the Yearling StalĀ
lions with twenty-seven horses entered.
This association represented a dedicated effort on
the part of a group of middle Tennessee walking Horse
enthusiasts who wanted to provide more activity for
colts specifically. Their aim in forming this association
and this Futurity was to create more interest in colts.
The judges for this first annual event were Mr.
Kenny Nelson, Mr. George Henson, Mr. Raymond Vance,
Mr. C. H. Williamson, Mr. Rock McEwen and Mr.
Frank Dawson. They were picked by popular vote of
the membership who had horses entered. Three judges
were selected to judge each class and a spin of a color
wheel determined which three would judge a particular
