1966-Voice Of The Tennessee Walking Horse 1966 October Voice RS | Page 37

PIDDLEY’S GRATIS was picked by lot from a select list of colts offered to the VOICE by over two dozen top breeding stables. The name of Oak- wood was drawn as the stable from which the VOICE would purchase a colt for this program. Working with Dr. William Jones, Bob Hamilton, Buck Hollis and Adrian Light, owners of PIDDLEY, INCORPORATED, we were able to locate and purchase one of the truly outstanding yearlings of 1966 to be given away at the Celebra tion. In keeping with our established policy, we endeavor to obtain nothing but the best for this program and we feel that the colt for this year was the best yet. PIDDLEY, now standing in Fayette ville, Tennessee, at OAKWOOD ACRES, has been a successful producer of fine Tennessee Walking Horses for the past several years while standing along with GO BOY’S SHADOW at Bailey-Montgomery Stables in Shelby- ville. He was purchased by the group representing Oakwood Acres and was moved to new quarters to stand the 1967 season from Fayetteville. Oak- wood Acres features the old Rambo Farms facilities and has over one hun dred and fifty acres of prime pasture for brood mares and colts. The stud fee on this stallion will remain at $150.00 for the coming season. Any one wishing information about PID DLEY should contact Mr. Adrian Light, Phone 433-5080, Fayetteville, Tennessee. PIDDLEY’S GRATIS PART OF THE PROGRAM — Jimmy Richardson is pictured with Dr. Bill Jones, Mr. C. Bruce Spencer and Adrian Light as they prepared to hand this fine PID DLEY filly over to new owners. Jimmy gave an Insurance Policy to the new owners. Dr. Jones and Mr. Light repre sented the Oakwood Stables. Mr. Brent Damron of the Walking Horse Supply Company could not be present for the picture. DIG DOWN DEEP — Mrs. Gloria Spen cer assists a cute little girl, picked from the audience, in drawing the winning ticket from among the 10,000 in the barrel. PROUD WINNERS — Mr. and Mrs. David Howard, Associate Editor of the VOICE, are pictured presenting the Reg istration papers and transfer to Mr. and Mrs. Don Stewart of Birmingham, winners of the colt. A pretty PIDDLEY’S GRATIS, looks on with interest. OCTOBER, 1966 37
