1965-Voice Of The Tennessee Walking Horse 1965 September Voice | Page 58

Continued from page 57) We intend to follow up on this note of understanding by our various Na tional Humane Association repre sentatives and join them in their official program of preventing undue abuse to horses. None of us — own ers, trainers, or exhibitors —admire or want the severe activities of a few extremists. We know that it is unnecessary and that these people soon drop by the wayside. We would like to say that with the support of the National Humane Association and other similar groups who know the true facts about the Tennessee Walking Horse, we can eliminate the activities of a few "trouble-makers’’ who seem intent on destroying the breed and reduc ing the Tennessee Walking Horse to the status of the pleasure horse again. We have said before and we say again that we have our own official organization and need no other to govern the Tennessee Walking Horse business. We beseech all Professional Trainers, Amateurs and exhibitors to make an extra effort to uphold the highest standards of training, to take extra care of all your horses, to use only those tried and proven sound training tech niques that have made the breed great. Remember . . . "Nothingcan replace time in the saddle!” TRADE MARKET FOR SALE: MY SPECIAL STAR by GO BOY’S SPECIAL. Foaled April, 1964. Excellent show or stud prospect. Contact L. K.
