It’s a big class and most of them will leave the ring with nothing but a hot horse. Let’s give them a big hand — they deserve it!” And they really do deserve it. The amateur and juvenile classes are consistently the largest classes at most Mid-South horse shows. After seeing some of the horses in action, one thing is certain - this Mid-South show season promises to be the most exciting ever! There are quite a few flashy new horses making their debuts in the show ring this year, while the veterans of last year are coming on stronger than ever. Robbie tied firstin thejuvenile class at Cordova on Edna’s Pride, and won the amateurclass later that same night on Mack K’s Darling. At Verona Robbie tied second in the ju­ venile class and first in equitation. To the great relief of many of their competitors, Linda and Robbie are leaving for a month in Europe. We wish them a wonderful trip. Other riders having success in the juvenile division are DEBBIE FOW­ LER and Shadow’s Imp; LYNN BLEDSOE and Lynn’s Merry Chance; PAT STRINGER and her black mare Gunsmoke’s Starlight; and PERRY THOMAS riding Party Doll. ANN SHORT of Como, Missis­ sippi got off to a good start with a blue ribbon in equitation at Milling­ ton. MICKEY CHERRY has dazzled the spectators on his new'roan, Sun’s Playboy. His wins this year include first place at Humboldt, Batesville, Lexington, and Millington. Playboy has speed, form and three good gaits. This pair is destined for greatthings in the future.
