There were three judges: Mr. David Welsh, Oaks Corners, New York; Mr. George Witt, Athens, Alabama and Mr. Richard Mary, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Walking Horse Exhibitors had thirty-seven Classes in which to show. C. A. Bobo Mr. C. A. Bobo won three of the Junior Horse Classes. Mr. Bobo rode JUNE’S DIAMOND, owned by Davis and Spainhour of North Wilksboro, N. C., to victory in the Junior Stallion Class. He rode MISS SUN DOWN R to the win­ ners circle twice; the Junior Mare Class and the Junior Champion­ ship Stake. "Dude" Crowder “Dude” Crowder, up for F. L. Blount on SHADOWS MINUTE won the Two-Year-Old Filly Class and the Open Gelding Class on MIDNIGHT SPOOK, also owned by Mr. Blount. CAPTAIN APPLE­ JACK was ridden to victory in the Ladies to Ride Class by Miss Betty Blount. The Limited Walk­ ing Horse Class was won by Jane Teich on MINILLAS SHADOW. These two horses are also under the skillful hands of “Dude” Crow­ der. Kenny Price AFTER SUN, owned by H. C. Reaves of Pinehurst, N. C. was ridden to victory in the Open Walking Stallion Class by Mr. Kenny Price. Mr. Price is training the Gelding that won the Amateur Gelding Class and the Champion­ ship Amateur Class. The rider and owner is Mr. Ralph Dertsch of Asheboro, N. C. 6S Williams. Miss Williams won the Juvenile Class for Riders Twelve and Under. She also won the Ju­ venile Championship. Miss Wil­ liams rode GO BOY’S EBONY ANGEL to these two victories. Pam Reed It is very unusual to see a young girl showing a two-year-old walk­ ing horse.
