the greatest horses of this genera­
tion. A new trophy is being award­
ed this year in the Open Amateur
Class by Mr. W. T. Baynard, Ba­
ton Rouge, Louisiana, since his
wins in 1961, 1962, and 1963 have
retired the amateur trophy do­
nated by Governor and Mrs. Bu­
ford Ellington.
The number and quality of the
entries already received indicate
that 1964 will be the greatest
Spring Jubilee in the history of
this premier event.

south. He now does all of Sam’s
outside hauling, and, in fact his
first trip took him to Lake City,
South Carolina, to Mr. “Boots” Mc-
Clam, who bought a gelding ready
to show and a top Amateur Mare
for his little girl. He has also been
to Dallas, Texas for Trainer “Dub”
Ivin, and Mr. W. H. Wade in Gar­
land, Texas. He recently went to
Lexington, Ky. for Pete Yokely and
then from Jackson, Miss, to Bowl­
ing Green, Kentucky, for Billy
Mitchell. His other customers have
been Buddy Black, Donald Paschal,
Charlie Martin, and S. W. Beech.
Tommy, in discussing his imme­
diate future says, “I’m planning on
doing this all summer long in order
to secure the necessary funds to
enter the University of Tennessee
this coming fall, and then the
School of Veterinary Medicine the
following year. I would enjoy doing
busines with anybody and every­
body, and anyone wishing to get in
touch with me can do so simply by
contacting Sam Paschal in Mur­
freesboro.”

determination to succeed in the
