PROFESSIONALS ON PARADE ( Continued from Page 10 ) and ambition that makes him go as hard as he does . As she puts it , “ he thinks that every horse in the barn has got to be worked every day regardless of how tired or sick he may be .” It is obvious that Bud ’ s dedication to his horses has produced results , however . Perhaps the most outstanding trait to describe Bud Dunn is that he is a listener . He listens to people and doesn ’ t say much . He listens to the rythum of his horses and this says a lot .
Like most other trainers . Bud doesn ’ t like to brag about what he has accomplished , but with a little prying we learned about some of his horses . He is now showing a seal brown three year old stallion named JET ' S COMMAN DER owned by Allen Walker of Manchester , Tennessee . He also has SUNDUST UNTOUCHABLE , owned by Lewis Biggerstaff of Kocomo , Indiana and SUNDUST BLACK MAGIC , owned by Captain A . E . Self of Mobile , Alabama . Bud is particularly proud of GO BOY ’ S SUN DUST , owned by Miss Janie Henry and SUN DUST PER FECTION owned by Dr . and Mrs . B . S . Henry of Russelville , Ala . Both of these horses appear to be headed for top honors .
From the sidelines it was apparent that Bud Dunn made a good showing at the Shelbyville P . T . A . show this year . Five of the amateur horses that were shown had , at one time , been trained by him , and three of them placed . Good evidence that this man is easy to follow in the saddle . Another outstanding horse that Bud started is MARK ’ S SUN
SUN DUST PERFECTION — Owned by Dr . and Mrs . B . S . Henry of Russelville , Alabama . A top Contender for 1964 Blue Ribbon honors . Bud Dunn up .
THE BUD DUNN STABLES — after many years of effort and hard work Bud Dunn has managed to settle down on his own place . He has recently purchased this stable and farm in Florence , Alabama .
DUST , a five year old stud that Preach Fleming has been showing successfully this year . And there are many , many more good horses going that are a tribute to the training ability of Bud Dunn .
A dream of a boy that says “ he rode chairs in the living room when he couldn ’ t find a horse ,” seems to have materialized for this man . We wish him and his wife Charlotte every success with their newly acquired Stable and home in Florence , Alabama .
