VALLEY WALKING HORSE ASSOCIATION Chartered in March. 1963, with eighty-eight charter members, the Tennessee Valley Walking Horse Association must be credited with stimulating a great deal of in­ terest in the breed and with plan­ ning ahead for more vigorous acti­ vities on behalf of the Walking Horse in 1964. During 1963 mem­ bers of the association donated a copy of Ben Green’s Biography of ihe Tennessee Walking Horse to each of some fifteen high school libraries in the area. During 1963, programs conducted at the monthly dinner meetings included talks by Roy Davis, Calhoun, Georgia, Benvis Beachboard, Bell Buckle, Tennessee, Sam Paschal, Murfrees­ boro, Tennessee, and Ben Green, Shelbyvile, Tennessee. At the annual convention of the association on December 12, offi­ cers and directors for 1964 were elected: Fred E. Friend, Chatta­ nooga, president; W.
