He and Faye were married and started their first training job in Canton, Georgia for Mr. and Mrs. Tyre Jones and their daughter Virginia. They lived in Canton for a year then moved to Maryville, Tennessee. Here their first child was born in 1956, Winston Tyre Groover. From Maryville the Groover’s moved to Knoxville, Tennessee where “Wink” ran an open train­ ing stable at Chilhowe Park. Some months later he was asked to de­ sign a stable for a group of busi­ ness men and later became man­ ager of the new Beaverbrook Stables. There he developed two outstanding 3 year old horses, SUN’S PIN-UP GIRL and GENER­ AL KNOX. The latter was sold to Dr. L. C. Smith of Beaumont, Texas. The m
