FEBRUARY, 1964 THE HI-LINE (Conld.) walking, “FANCY FREE OF ESTESSA. FANCY went'to all the shows in this circuit last season and brought home her share of the bacon, but then she was small. Now she is developing tremendous power. Watch for her, she will win your hearts, too! Mr. John Perkins of Smithdale, Mississippi, has really been talking about a new colt, GO BOY’S BLUE PRINT, a two-year-old stud. He is as pretty a colt as you would hope to find. He is black, as India Ink and will really leave some indeli ble tracks behind him this coming reason. Mr. John has a barn full of good horses but seems to get his biggest charge from his juvenile riders. He has some good ones, too. PRIDE’S ROCKET, a full brother to PRIDE’S ARISTOCRAT, tops his Amateur list, and Dr. J. T. Janes of near-by McComb really enjoys riding him. They make a great team. Big things are doing, too, at Ridgewood Stables in Lafayette, Louisiana. Here stands SUN’S QUARTERBACK, the sire of great TRIPLE THREAT. Mr. and Mrs. Hewitt Bordelon are the proud owners and tell me that QUAR TERBACK SNEAK, a two-year- old stud and QUARTERBACK’S SWEATER GIRL, a two-year-old filly, are showing great possibili ties. I saw what QUARTER BACK’S RARE FLAIR was doing last fall at the Natchez show; but Mr. Bordelon says he is much more horse now. Rod Pellerin is the trainer here and says they are for tunate in obtaining the groom that cared for TRIPLE THREAT all of last season. He has also told me that facilities have been enlarged to take care of the constantly grow ing number of visiting matrons who have come to the court of QUARTERBACK. From Dixie Springs Stable, owned by Mr. J. L. Carruth of Dixie Springs, Mississippi, comes news that PRIDE’S KISMET, a five-year-old stud by PRIDE OF PANOLA out of a double WIL SON’S ALLEN mare is showing a bright future. This horse was shown only a few times last year but did quite well. Lu Carruth is offering for sale her mount, MR. DEE-LISH, by PRIDE out of a WILSON’S ALLEN mare. He is a young stud and really good look ing. Lu won the Ladies’ Class at several of the shows last year with this horse, but she intends to make room for the new horses they are expecting in any day now. She says he would make an excellent juvenile horse. Whoever said "MAKE 'EM IN THE WINTER AND SHOW'EM IN THE SUMMER" wanted, to win more than I do! Among those selected as lecturers are: S. W. Beech, Jr., president of TWH AROUND WORLD (Conid) the Tennessee Walking Horse TRIPLE TREAT: school, Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Associa show and social events. The Ameri tion; H. Tom Fulton, executive can Walking Horse Association’s secretary of the Association; and thirteenth annual school for ex Sam Paschal, Donald Paschal and hibitors and judges will be held Vic Thompson, trainers. Last year May 15 and 16 at the Quentin Rid five mares were given to the school ing Club, Quentin, Pennsylvania, by the Breeders’ Association for three miles east of Lebanon, Penn use in the instruction of this course. Most of them are expected to sylvania. H. Karl Yenser, chair man of the school committee, foal this spring. There will also be sta
