Carl Hengen was host to the Northern Virginia Builders Assn, including contractors, builders, local digni taries and their families. Over one thousand people attended the event. The Lawn Vale Farms, lo cated in Gainesville, Virginia is one of the most beautiful Tennessee Walking Horse facilities in the na tion. A full scale program is under way here under the guidance of John Piercy, Jr., General Manager; Ernest Bugg, Trainer and Edward Stephenson, Assistant Trainer. The big event was held June 27, and included a full schedule of Walking Horse activities and other related functions. The program was opened by Sam Paschal of Murfreesboro. Tennessee, carrying the flag on WHITE SENSATION JR., the Celebration Flag Horse. Among the outstanding horses that were exhibited to the guests were STAR MAJOR WILSON G.S.B., SON’S SHADOW, Reserve Junior 32 Stallion in 1958, BEE’S BIG SHOT, tenth in the big stake in 1963 and SUN’S SPRING QUEEN, Reserve Champion Mare in 1962.
